Starfish is joining the Justice Defenders from the UK on a visit to Kenya to work in the prison system. Justice Defenders works to get people falsely incarcerated free from prison, then trains many to become para legals in the Kenyan justice system. They go on to help others find freedom too. After meeting with the founder of Justice Defenders, they told Sean they often encounter people in prison with the same kind of past of sexual abuse. While they want to help these people find freedom from shame, guilt and fear, they asked if Sean would join them as a survivor leader and be their voice to both victims and offenders. He readily agreed. Justice Defenders works in 3 countries in Africa and in over 55 prisons. Our hope is this will be the first of many visits by Sean to Africa. Donations are needed to help us cover the costs which average about $4,500 per trip.
